Theresa is a firm believer in loving what you do.
She knew she wanted to serve her community and knew she wanted to create a Valuable resource that could bring quality Educators for young children.
She worked in the field since 2011 and shared her experience of working with young children throughout San Francisco County.
She went to college at City College of San Francisco and graduated with an AS is Social and Behavioral Sciences and also studied Child Development.
In 2017 she started working for the San Francisco Unified school district again where she worked with children with an IEP and supported children with: down syndrome, autism, ADHD, children with PEG and other challenging special needs.
She maintains her certifications in first aid, CPR, and AED.
As she grew in her experience, she was able to learn the difference of support that children needed between private schools and public schools. This raised a concern to her and started her ambition to create a way for quality care in the community.
As a mother and educator, she shares the experience of lacking the support she needed for her child at a young age. As well as sharing empathy with the challenges of motherhood as a single woman, educator and DV Survivor.
She believes so many mothers out there could use the love, compassion, and empathy she shares in her experience.
She created Hill Dreamz for the mothers, survivors, the mothers who lack support, or the mothers who just need help and guidance.
2016 was the year of vision for Hill Dreamz.
Hill represents her last name and legacy being left for her children and family and Dreamz represented something that was once a dream and now reality that you all get to enjoy.
In 2021 in the midst of the pandemic, she got pregnant with my second daughter. She was working with SFUSD and had to make a huge decision on going back to work once mandate was lifted.
She had so many concerns about the quality and safety of childcare that putting her daughter in childcare became a difficult decision to make.
She wanted quality childcare, a trustworthy educator and someone who was going to value the safety concerns of COVID. In addition to quality care, she wanted someone who was going to love her daughter as she would and truly love working with children.
She couldn’t believe it took her so long to realize she was more than fit to be her own daughter’s educator. Not only would she be more than qualified But she can also offer other family’s quality care as well. What a dream come true.
She made the decision to quit her job and open Hill Dreamz Daycare. She realized she had so much to offer, and her daughter would be in great hands. She had all the skills to be a great educator and the passion to keep it alive.
Hill Dreamz is a play-based curriculum program. Although we will not teach a Faith-based program. We will expose children to my faith and belief of God. If it wasn’t for him, Hill Dreamz couldn’t have started.
Hill Dreamz was created as a steppingstone for something beautiful in the making. A business that is truly created for Black and brown families in need. Hill Dreamz is Theresa’s foundation of God's glory growing in San Francisco.
Theresa’s passion for child development and helping families will forever water this seed of creation to grow and gain the tools to sustain what will be created. Hill Dreamz is a seed of transition into a Childcare center for Women of color & Children who have experienced trails and tribulations. The community will have access to the resources
But Theresa would also like to advocate for the black women and children in the community who have experienced DV, lack of support as a single mother, or just needs support. More than 40% of Black women will experience DV in there lifetime. Our community needs Advocates and I want to grow one here in the Bay Area. As a black women who has experienced such devastating circumstances. I can't help but feel like our community needs more advocates, awareness, education and support. And thats all I want to do.
Theresa expressed that Hill Dreamz didn’t happen on her own, she took the biggest leap of Faith and trusted in God. She believed she is a great educator and have the skills to be great, but nothing prepared her for this. She had to allow her faith in god to lead her. Hill Dreamz was her mustard seed of faith and now she is able to offer quality care for families. Not only does she want to offer quality care but she wants to offer resources as she continues to grow. As a educator she is passionate about her babies (clients & Families) and also passionate about families who do not get the support they need as a Domestic Violence Survivors and victims. Theresa sees herself growing something in her community and hope that you can share her passion. Grow with us and support Hill Dreamz Daycare as we grow.
